BigBear.ai Names Kevin McAleenan as CEO

BigBear.ai said President Kevin McAleenan was named as chief executive officer, effective Jan. 15.

He succeeds Mandy Long, who is stepping down as CEO and from the board, and will serve as an adviser, the company said. Long was named CEO in October of 2022.

McAleenan will also serve on the board.

McAleenan founded Pangiam, which was purchased by BigBear.ai in 2024. Previously, he served as Commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and also as Acting Secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security during the first Trump administration.
