智通财经APP获悉，丰田汽车(TM.US)子公司日野汽车(Hino Motors)就伪造发动机排放测试数据和非法销售超过10.5万台汽车发动机与美国当局达成16亿美元的和解协议。
日野汽车承认提交了虚假的发动机认证批准申请和二氧化碳排放测试数据，因此在2010年至2022年期间进口和销售了超过10.5万台不合格的发动机。
日野汽车同意认罪以解决美国司法部的刑事调查，并支付总额为5.2176亿美元的刑事罚款。该公司还同意对其进行10.87亿美元的罚金判决。
日野汽车首席执行官Satoshi Ogiso表示：“我们对给客户和利益相关者造成的不便深表歉意。为了防止此类问题再次发生，我们已经在全公司范围内实施了改革，包括对我们的内部文化、监督和合规实践进行有意义的改进。”此外，日野汽车指出，和解协议不会影响其新卡车在美国的生产和销售，这些卡车配备了第三方制造的发动机。
