GeoPark and Repsol mutually agreed to end a previously agreed upon sale between the two companies.
Repsol in November signed a deal to sell upstream assets in Colombia to Latin American oil-and-gas explorer GeoPark for $530 million. The transaction included 100% of Repsol Colombia Oil & Gas and a 25% stake in SierraCol Energy Arauca.
GeoPark said Repsol's partner in SierraCol Energy exercised its preemptive rights to acquire 25% of Repsol's interest in SierraCol Energy Arauca, leading to the mutual agreement on Tuesday.
