Sparc Technologies (ASX:SPN) obtained the first patent for its exclusively licensed photocatalytic water splitting reactor technology in Morocco, according to a Thursday filing with the Australian bourse.
The patent was granted to Sparc Hydrogen, a joint venture comprising Sparc Technologies, Fortescue (ASX:FMG), and the University of Adelaide.
Patent applications in 17 other jurisdictions are in progress.
Sparc Technologies' shares surged 24% in recent trade.
