苹果加入UALink联盟 成员含AMD、英特尔、谷歌等公司
1月15日，CNMO了解到，苹果已正式获得Ultra Accelerator Link（UALink）联盟董事会席位。该联盟由65家以上成员组成，致力于开发下一代人工智能加速器架构。苹果的加入将使其能够影响新标准的制定并推动其采用。这意味着苹果将参与制定和推广一种标准，用于在支持AI任务的数据中心中将大量GPU连接起来。
苹果平台架构总监Becky Loop表示：“UALink在解决连接挑战和创造扩展AI能力和需求的新机遇方面展现出巨大潜力。苹果在推动行业发展的创新和合作方面有着悠久的历史，我们很高兴加入UALink董事会。”
UALink联盟由AMD和英特尔支持，包括AWS、谷歌、Meta和微软等发起人成员。如今，苹果也参与其中。
UALink联盟表示：“最初的1.0版本200Gbps UALink规范能够在AI集群内连接多达1000个加速器，并基于IEEE P802.3dj物理层。该规范于2024年向贡献者成员提供，并计划于2025年第一季度向公众发布。”
目前尚不清楚苹果是否会以及何时采用这项技术，或者它是否仅仅是对整个人工智能行业感兴趣。当下，苹果智能服务器由M2 Ultra芯片提供支持，预计今年将开始使用M4系列芯片。据外媒The Information最近报道，苹果一直在开发一款新的AI服务器芯片，该芯片将为AI工作负载提供更快的性能，这标志着苹果将逐渐放弃使用Mac芯片作为服务器芯片。
