Duty Free International's Attributable Profit Balloons in Fiscal Q3; Shares Surge 18%

Duty Free International's (SGX:5SO) profit attributable to owners of the company zoomed in fiscal Q3 to 41.6 million ringgit from 2.4 million ringgit from a year earlier, according to a filing with the Singapore Exchange on Monday.

Earnings per share came in at 0.0347 ringgit from 0.002 ringgit in the comparable period.

Revenue was up over 6% year over year to 41.2 million ringgit from 38.7 million ringgit in the year-ago period, mainly due to an increased demand for certain products.

The company declared a second interim cash dividend of SG$0.0055 per share for the period.

Shares of the retail company surged over 18% in recent trading.
