Lachlan Star (ASX:LSA) extended copper mineralization from its maiden diamond drilling program at the Basin Creek prospect, within its Junee project in New South Wales, according to a Thursday filing with the Australian bourse.
The drilling program yielded 10 meters at 0.9% copper from 88 meters, including 6.2 meters at 1.3% copper from 89.8 meters, the filing said.
The company has begun submitting applications for the required drill permits, with a new round of drilling expected to start in the coming months, the filing added.
Shares of the company rose 12% on market close.
