当地时间1月16日，波音恢复了推迟五个月的777X宽体喷气式飞机的试飞，这是该公司自去年8月停飞试飞机队以来的首次。波音在飞机降落后表示，将继续执行严格的测试计划，以证明777-9的安全性、性能和可靠性。
在去年8月停飞的五周前，波音才进行了777-9机型的认证飞行测试。波音表示，在首次试飞后的例行维护中，发现777-9的推力杆受损。该公司在一份声明中表示，该部件“性能不符合设计要求”。波音称计划更换发动机支架，并表示“准备就绪后将恢复飞行测试”。
资料显示，777X是波音777的后继机型，而波音777是商业上最成功的长途客机之一。波音最初计划于2020年向首家客户卡塔尔航空公司交付首架777X。不过，部件故障造成的延误以及2024年底为期七周的罢工使波音不得不将777X的首次交付推迟到2026年。
据航空业分析公司Cirium称，波音有481架777X订单，包括阿联酋航空的170架和卡塔尔航空的60架。其他客户包括汉莎航空、新加坡航空等。
