Smartphone shipments from mainland China increased 5% to 77.5 million units in the fourth quarter of 2024, according to data from research company Canalys released Thursday.
Apple's shipments ranked first in market share with 13.1 million units and a 17% market share, Canalys said. However, shipments by the US firm plunged to 25% year over year due to intense competition.
Vivo and Huawei took the second and third spots, with 12.9 million units sold each and a 17% market share.
Xiaomi (HKG:1810) was fourth with 12.2 million units shipped, with annual growth surging 29%, according to Canalys.
Oppo was fifth with 10.6 million shipments, up 18% year over year in Q4.
For the full year, smartphone shipments from mainland China grew 4% year over year to 285 million.
