Bureau Veritas Shelved Talks With Intertek to Seek SGS Deal, FT Says, Citing Sources

--France's Bureau Veritas ditched merger talks with U.K. peer Intertek Group to seek a possible deal with Switzerland's SGS, the Financial Times reports, citing unnamed sources.

--Bureau Veritas and Intertek held long-running talks that collapsed late last fall as Wendel--Bureau Veritas's biggest shareholder--saw greater potential in a deal with SGS, the FT reports.

--Intertek, Bureau Veritas, SGS and Wendel declined to comment, according to the FT.
