GSI Technology (GSIT) said Friday it has been selected by the US Army for a contract potentially valued up to $250,000 to create advanced edge computing artificial intelligence applications with its Gemini-II technology.
The project, which is under the Small Business Innovation Research, or SBIR, program, seeks to integrate Gemini-II with Army-specific edge AI models and determine the best AI algorithms for the platform, the company said.
GSI said it will focus on developing 1-bit Large Language Models (LLMs) for the US Army, offering high accuracy, low power use, and minimal latency, with potential applications in computer vision recognition, autonomous vehicle navigation, and mobile data computation.
Shares of GSI Technology jumped more than 47% in recent Friday trading.
