0022 GMT - South Korea's benchmark Kospi edges 0.2% lower at 2521.47 in early trade as shipbuilding, auto and steel stocks retreat. Wall Street's overnight declines is weighing on sentiment. Foreign and institutional investors are net sellers. Shipbuilder Hanwha Ocean drops 3.3% on profit taking after a nine-session winning streak. Rival shipmakers HD Hyundai Heavy Industries and Samsung Heavy Industries also fall by 1.8% and 0.3%, respectively. Carmaker Hyundai Motor is down 1.6%. Hyundai Steel loses 1.4%. USD/KRW is almost flat at 1,456.55, compared with the prior session's Seoul onshore trading close. South Korea's 10-year government bond yield is down 5.8 bps at 2.802%. (kwanwoo.jun@wsj.com)
