CoreCivic said it received a new management contract from Montana to care for additional inmates outside the state.

The provider of corrections and detention services said 240 inmates are expected to arrive at the company's Tallahatchie County Correctional Facility in Mississippi in the first quarter. In January, 120 inmates arrived at CoreCivic's Saguaro Correctional Facility in Arizona under an existing contract, CoreCivic said.

Under the terms of the new contract, extension options will be provided in two-year intervals, or intervals advantageous to the state, upon mutual agreement, CoreCivic said. The company added the new contract increases the geographic range of CoreCivic facilities that can serve the state of Montana.
