Versus Systems' Shares Climb on Brazil Expansion Plan

Shares of Versus Systems rallied after the company said it plans to expand its operations to Brazil.

The stock climbed 43% to $2.74 in after-hours trading Thursday. Shares ended the market session down 5.9% at $1.92.

The Miami-based company, which provides gamification and audience engagement technology, said it named Flavio Maria its manager for Brazil, which it described as one of biggest gaming markets in the world with more than 100 million gaming users.

Maria has held several leadership roles at gaming and entertainment companies. He has also served as chief marketing officer of PSN Network and senior vice president of marketing for Pepsi's Latin America division.
