Sony (SONY) has canceled two previously unannounced "live service" game projects at subsidiaries Bend Studio and Bluepoint Games, Bloomberg reported late Thursday, citing a statement from the company.
A spokesperson confirmed that the cancellations were made following a recent review, according to the report.
Bend Studio and Bluepoint Games will remain open, and Sony plans to work with them to decide their next projects, the media outlet said.
Sony did not say if these cancellations will lead to job losses, but the company aims to minimize impact on the business, Bloomberg said, citing a company memo to staff.
Sony did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
Shares were moving 1.8% higher in recent trading.
