Maximus Resources (ASX:MXR) said assay results from reverse circulation drilling at the Eagles Nest gold deposit in Western Australia expanded the resource potential, according to a Friday Australian bourse filing.
The assays reported multiple shallow high-grade intersections of up to 10 meters at 2.24 grams per tonne of gold from a depth of 37 meters, including two meters at 2.71 g/t grade of gold from 38 meters and three meters at 3.88 g/t grade of gold from 44 meters.
Shallow mineralization was discovered in previously untested areas, the filing said.
The results reinforce the prospectivity of the deposit and provide strong justification for further exploration, the filing said.
Company shares slid 2% in recent trade.
