0907 ET - Electronic Arts tumbles 17% premarket after warning of an F3Q earnings shortfall. Lackluster launches for "Dragon Age" and "EA Sports FC 25" games were the culprits. "The magnitude of the earnings revisions, particularly for EA Sports FC 25, exceeded expectations, given its strong growth out of Q2," says Benchmark. EA's ballyhooed soccer franchise is seeing "an abrupt loss of momentum." "Recent updates [in the Global Football franchise] have shown encouraging early player feedback but came too late to offset the decline," says Benchmark, who likes EA medium-term but not right now. The soccer surprise "gives us pause."(Rob.Curran@wsj.com)
