0929 GMT - Singapore's FTSE Straits Times Index closed 0.3% lower at 3795.37, amid cautious sentiment after President Trump's inauguration. The mixed signals about Trump's tariffs plans have caused some confusion among investors, noted Yeap Jun Rong, IG's market strategist. Trump's plans for U.S.-imposed tariffs on Canada and Mexico on Feb. 1, have dashed earlier hopes that tariffs may be delayed-for-longer, he wrote in an email. Among decliners, Hongkong Land fell 2.1%, UOB and Sembcorp Industries both lost 0.9%. Meanwhile, Frasers Centrepoint Trust and SATS both climbed 1.4%. (amanda.lee@wsj.com)
