Lockheed Martin (LMT) said Wednesday it has won a $270 million contract from the US Air Force to install infrared defensive sensors on the F-22 Raptor fighter jet.
The new Infrared Defensive System consists of distributed TacIRST sensors that support the aircraft's survivability and combat effectiveness, the company said.
In addition to integrating IRDS into the F-22 Raptor, Lockheed Martin will also provide support for other military platforms, it added.
