Malaysian Healthcare Sector's Outlook Could Remain Robust -- Market Talk

0111 GMT - The Malaysian healthcare sector's outlook may remain positive, supported by rising inpatient admissions, complex cases and medical tourism, Maybank IB analysts Nur Natasha Ariza and Yin Shao Yang say in a note. Private healthcare demand is set to grow with Malaysia's ageing population and increasing affluence, driving higher margins, they reckon. Medical tourism, especially from Indonesia could boost revenue, with IHH Healthcare, KPJ Healthcare and Optimax Holdings set to be key beneficiaries. Regulatory risks such as the Diagnosis-Related Group implementation, a payment system to regulate private hospital bills, are unlikely to take effect before 2025, they add. Maybank maintains a positive rating on Malaysian healthcare sector.(yingxian.wong@wsj.com)
