1102 ET - D.R. Horton is hopeful the Trump administration is able to do some things that will help drive affordability. Executives at the home builder say it's hard to predict what, if any, impact potential tariffs or immigration crackdowns will have on their business. "If there are cost increases, that is not going to be helpful for housing affordability. And I do think housing affordability is a stated goal of the administration," they add. Executives also note that they've dealt with changes to tariffs and immigration in the past and that a potential outcome would be more likely to affect operations on a regional basis than a sweeping impact across its national footprint.
