Novonix (NVX) said Monday that its chief executive officer, Chris Burns, would resign, effective Friday.

The Tennessee-based firm said the board has initiated a search for a new CEO with expertise in manufacturing, operations, and scaling production to drive the company's growth in synthetic graphite production.

The company's chief financial officer, Robert Long, has been appointed interim CEO until a permanent replacement is found, it added.

Burns would continue as a special advisor to the board to provide continuity, support the company's ongoing operations, and ensure a smooth transition.
