Wesfarmers is closing its ailing marketplace business Catch amid mounting competition from ultra-cheap international sites such as China’s Temu and US giant Amazon.
The WA-based conglomerate, which owns Kmart and hardware giant Bunnings, said on Tuesday that Catch will stop trading in its own right in the fourth quarter of the 2025 financial year. It will also accelerate the development of a retail media business to add a new source of profit for the group.
