三名消息人士周二表示，巴菲特旗下的Pilot Co．将关闭其国际石油交易业务，结束进军这一万亿美元规模的全球市场的计划，重新专注于其在美国的Pilot Flying J加油站和卡车驿站业务。
据两名知情人士透露，作为巴菲特旗下伯克希尔哈撒韦公司的子公司，Pilot已经裁掉了几乎所有负责国际贸易的员工。他们表示，该公司将把资源用于发展自己的北美业务，而不是贸易。
Pilot没有就该公司是否退出国际贸易业务置评。Pilot Energy总裁Gary Hoogevenen在一份声明中表示：“我们的核心能力集中在为我们的旅行中心和北美客户提供可靠的燃料供应。”
Hoogevenen表示，该公司可能会开拓国际市场以满足其供应需求。
早在2023年，Pilot就开始削减其能源交易业务，在巴菲特将其在该公司的股份提高到80%之后，该公司解雇了包括副总裁史蒂文·霍尔巴赫在内的15名员工。
去年1月，巴菲特在与亿万富翁吉米•哈斯拉姆（Jimmy Haslam）就该公司估值发生法律纠纷后，接管了Pilot剩余20%的股份。根据监管文件，该公司的税前利润从2022年的逾23亿美元减半至2023年的10.6亿美元。
从那以后，Pilot对国际石油交易风险的偏好逐渐减弱。两位消息人士称，近几个月来，该公司裁掉了大部分国际石油和燃料交易员。
