Consumer stocks were mixed premarket Friday, with The Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLP) down and The Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLY) 0.3% higher.
Costco Wholesale (COST) shareholders have voted against a shareholder proposal requesting the company to report on the risks of maintaining its diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, according to a FactSet transcript of the company's 2025 annual meeting of shareholders. Costco Wholesale shares were down 0.1% pre-bell.
Arcos Dorados Holdings (ARCO) shares were 0.4% higher after the company said it has priced $600 million worth of 6.375% senior notes maturing Jan. 29, 2032, through its Arcos Dorados B.V. unit.
Amazon.com (AMZN) has entered into a new long term supply agreement with Bloomsbury Publishing, the publisher said. Amazon.com shares were down 0.1% premarket.
