SGD Weakens Slightly as Traders Digest Trump's Remarks -- Market Talk

0342 GMT - The Singapore dollar weakens slightly against its U.S. counterpart in the Asian session as traders digest Trump's remarks overnight including his inauguration speech. The speech focused on immigration and deregulation to unleash domestic crude production, Maybank analysts say in a report. Also, Trump held off on immediate tariffs on China, but mentioned that he is "thinking in terms of 25% (tariffs) on Mexico and Canada" on Feb. 1, the analysts add. USD/SGD is 0.1% higher at 1.3573.
