0745 GMT - South Korea's benchmark Kospi fell 1.2% to close at 2515.49, dragged by shipbuilding and electronics stocks. Weak quarterly earnings from large-cap companies and the release of a frail 4Q GDP growth print dampened investor sentiment. HD Hyundai Mipo slumped 7.6%, leading broad declines among local shipbuilders. Consumer electronics giant LG Electronics fell 2.2% after it returned to a net loss in 4Q following three consecutive quarters of profit. Memory-chip maker SK Hynix slid 2.7% on profit taking despite its strong 4Q earnings. USD/KRW settled almost flat at 1,437.30 in Seoul onshore trading. South Korea's 10-year government bond yield was up 1.0 bp at 2.837%. (kwanwoo.jun@wsj.com)
