0914 ET - Electronic Arts reports a F3Q slowdown for EA Sports FC 25, its latest soccer videogame, that was likely due to self-inflicted wounds rather than a shift in the competitive dynamics, Oppenheimer analysts say in a research note. Management didn't say why FC 25 is performing poorly, but the game's players consistently complain about its gameplay being notably worse than that of last year's installment, the analysts say. The company says it expects a return to growth in the FC franchise in fiscal 2026. The franchise's near-term decline is alarming and will need to see a hard reset in the fiscal 2026 outlook, the analysts say. (dean.seal@wsj.com)
