Sunoco has reached a deal to lease refined product storage capacity at Vitol's terminal in Port Canaveral, Fla.
The fuel distributor notified its customers it expects to have rack supply of products available by June 1. Marketers cleared to purchase from Sunoco will automatically get a new rack loading account, the company said.
The Cape Canaveral facility is a relatively new terminal and often receives imported cargoes of gasoline and diesel. It also receives products from U.S.-flagged vessels departing from the Gulf Coast.
Sunoco has aggressively been expanding its business by acquiring terminals and entering into leasing agreements. Sources said the company is working on some additional leases at deepwater terminals in Georgia and the Carolinas.
