Hong Kong Shares Fall 0.4%, Tracking U.S. Futures -- Market Talk

0825 GMT - Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index fell 0.4% to close at 19700.56, erasing earlier gains and tracking U.S. futures. HSBC sees mixed signals from China's economy, with risks from the continued outflow of foreign funds from mainland China's stock market for five consecutive weeks, HSBC says. Further details on its fiscal policy support won't be announced until the Two Sessions in March, it adds. SMIC fell 7.2%, China Resources Mixc Lifestyle Services lost 4.2% and WH Group declined 3.9%. China Construction Bank Corporation and ICBC both gained 2.6%, while China Life Insurance and Ping An Insurance rose 2.5% and 1.9%, respectively. (kimberley.kao@wsj.com)
