European Stocks Mixed as Semiconductor-Equipment Makers Fall -- Market Talk

0902 GMT - European stocks open mixed, with shares in semiconductor-equipment makers logging significant losses, and gains across the banking sector. Germany's DAX rises 0.1% , the U.K.'s FTSE 100 is down 0.1% and the Netherlands' AEX falls 0.7%, dragged by drops in the technology sector. Shares in Dutch semiconductor-equipment manufacturers ASML, ASM International and BE Semiconductor fall in early trading after South Korean chipmaker SK Hynix said it expected a limited increase in its total investment this year. ASML shares fall 3.8%, while ASM International and BE Semiconductor drop 3.3% and 3.2%, respectively. The Stoxx Europe 600 is down 0.2%, but remains close to record levels.(adria.calatayud@wsj.com)
