Singapore's Inflation, Growth Outlook Face Uncertainty -- Market Talk

0717 GMT - Singapore's inflation and economic growth outlook face significant uncertainty, DBS Group Research analysts write in a note. The move by the Monetary Authority of Singapore to ease its policy settings wasn't a surprise for markets given moderating inflation and increasing uncertainty amid global trade policy risks, they write. DBS thinks rising external costs from possible trade frictions could be offset by weaker global demand, while rising labor costs will also likely slow as nominal wage growth is expected to ease. The impact of changing global trade policies could also weigh on the city-state's manufacturing and trade-related sectors, DBS adds. (kimberley.kao@wsj.com)
