Spark Commodities的数据显示，周四，在大西洋盆地租用一艘容量为17.4万立方米的现代油轮的成本降至每天9,750美元，较一个月前下降了约59%。这是该类别船舶有记录以来的最低费率。
Spark Commodities的商业分析师Qasim Afghan表示，这一下降“主要是由于涌入市场的新船增加，船舶可用性提升所致”。新船的交付速度快于其他出口项目，后者正在努力应对延期问题。
Afghan补充说，此外，越来越多的美国液化天然气被鼓励运往欧洲，从而使得更多船只留在大西洋盆地活动。
