Sector Update: Energy

Energy stocks were falling in Friday's pre-bell hours, with The Energy Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLE) lower.

The United States Oil Fund (USO) was up 1% and the United States Natural Gas Fund (UNG) was 2% lower.

Front-month US West Texas Intermediate crude oil was up 0.2% at $74.79 per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Global benchmark North Sea Brent crude oil gained 0.3% to reach $78.54 per barrel, and natural gas futures were down 2.5% at $3.85 per 1 million British Thermal Units.

Dorian LPG (LPG) shares were 0.8% higher after the company said its board approved an irregular cash dividend of $0.70 per share, totaling about $30 million, payable on or about Feb. 27 to shareholders on record as of Feb. 5.
