SK Inc.'s (KRX:034730) battery-making unit SK On will supply 20 gigawatt hours of nickel-cobalt-manganese (NCM) electric vehicle batteries, valued at 2.5 trillion won, to Nissan's US plant from 2028, Pulse News reported Friday, citing a Nikkei report.
The batteries will primarily be used in sport utility vehicles aimed for sale in the North American market. While an initial supply target was set for 2026, slowing EV demand has pushed the timeline back, with pricing potentially adjusted downward, the report said.
