Seanergy Maritime to Acquire 2 Japanese Vessels for $69 Million

Seanergy Maritime Holdings (SHIP) said Tuesday it signed definitive agreements with unaffiliated third parties in Japan for the acquisition of two Japanese ships for a total of about $69 million.

The company said the deals are for a Newcastlemax vessel and a bareboat charter with a purchase obligation for a Capesize vessel, with both ships to be delivered within Q1.

The transaction will be funded using a combination of existing cash and proceeds from future credit facilities, according to the company.

Shares of Seanergy Maritime were down 3% in recent trading.
