WH Smith said it was considering a possible sale of its high-street business.
The U.K. retailer--which sells books, magazines and other items at airports and train stations as well as high-street stores--on Saturday said there was no certainty that any agreement would be reached and that it would provide further updates as and when appropriate.
Over the past decade, WH Smith has become focused on its travel business, which now generates three-quarters of the group's revenue and 85% of its trading profit, the retailer said.
