Richardson Electronics (RELL) has sold its medical imaging distribution, testing and repairs facility in Fort Mill, South Carolina, to private equity-backed DirectMed Imaging, the companies said separately on Friday.
Financial terms were not disclosed, but DirectMed said its purchase of Richardson Healthcare significantly expands the reach of its refurbished parts and inventory business used for medical imaging systems such as magnetic resonance imaging and computed tomography scans.
After the sale, DirectMed also becomes the exclusive global distributor for Siemens Straton Z, MX x-ray tube as well as MXP CT and ALTA750 and ALTA 750G CT X-ray tubes.
