CVR Energy said Friday it has begun planned turnaround maintenance at its 136,000 b/d Coffeyville refinery in Kansas after a naphtha hydrotreater sustained damage during freezing conditions earlier in the week.
In a brief statement, CVR said it would provide further updates regarding the refinery's turnaround during its 2024 fourth-quarter earnings conference call in the coming weeks.
Earlier this week, CVR confirmed that a fire occurred at the refinery's naphtha hydrotreater.
The Coffeyville refinery, located about 100 miles from Cushing, Okla., mainly produces gasoline, diesel and other refined products that are marketed to the central Midcontinent area through bulk sales by pipelines and truck loading racks.
Texas-based CVR operates two Midcontinent refineries as well as nitrogen fertilizer and renewables businesses.
