Kimberly-Clark Seen in Negative Position Ahead of Earnings -- Market Talk

Dow Jones

1237 ET - Kimberly-Clark is set to release its 4Q results on Tuesday, but investors will likely be more focused on its initial 2025 outlook, UBS analysts say in a research note. The maker of Kleenex tissues and Huggies diapers has previously said it expects category growth for the year to come in at the low end of its long-term algorithm of 2% to 3% a year. But while the analysts say this growth may be possible, they expect it to be more than offset by headwinds, including foreign exchange, causing them to guide for net sales to fall 4.5% year-over-year. Despite some improvement, the overall sentiment around staples stocks is still negative, the analysts write. And in order for sentiment around Kimberly-Clark to meaningfully improve, they add, investors will need a more attractive entry point and a better sense of its top- and bottom-line trajectory.
