Cleveland-Cliffs' (CLF) Canadian unit Stelco told its US customers that it is pausing sales quotes amid concerns over the potential reimposition of duties, Bloomberg reported Friday, citing a person familiar with the matter.

Steel suppliers in Mexico have also stopped taking orders for materials this week as they await potential action from President Donald Trump, Flack Global Metals reportedly said.

"There's a lot of trepidation and changing commercial policy by the Mexican steelmakers with regards to their approach to this market," Flack Global CEO Jeremy Flack told Bloomberg in an interview.

Neither Cleveland-Cliffs nor Flack Global immediately responded to MT Newswires' requests for comments.
