Datang's On-Grid Power Generation Rises 4% in 2024; Shares Up 5%

Datang International Power Generation (HKG:0991, SHA:601991) recorded an on-grid power generation of 269.3 billion kilowatt hours in 2024, up 3.8% from the previous year, according to a Hong Kong stock exchange filing on Jan. 24.

The rise was attributed to an increase in wind and photovoltaic power, up 23% and 44% year on year, respectively. Hydropower also climbed 8.7% from a year ago due to an abundance in water inflow, while coal-fired and gas turbine added 1% and 1.7%, respectively.

The Chinese power company's average on-grid tariff slid 3.2% to 451.40 yuan per megawatt hour. The market-based transaction volume of the company's electricity rose 87% year on year to 233.755 billion kWh.

The company's Hong Kong shares jumped over 5%, while its Shanghai shares rose 3% in recent trade.
