ManpowerGroup swung to a profit in the fourth quarter, though revenue slipped.
The Milwaukee-based workforce solutions provider swung to a profit of $22.5 million, or 47 cents a share, from a loss of $84.5 million, or $1.73 a share, in the same quarter a year earlier.
On an adjusted basis, earnings per share came in at $1.02. Analysts were expecting 98 cents a share, according to FactSet.
Revenue fell 5% to $4.4 billion, in line with analyst views.
The company said regional trends were largely unchanged, with Europe and North America experiencing a challenging environment while Asia Pacific and Latin America saw good demand.
For the first quarter, ManpowerGroup said it expects earnings per share to range between 47 cents and 57 cents.
