Australia's Interest-Rate Cuts Could Come in Quick Succession -- Market Talk

0349 GMT - With Australia's 4Q 2024 CPI print coming in benign, Goldman Sachs is now forecasting the Reserve Bank of Australia to cut the official cash rate in February, April, May, and August. Andrew Boak, chief economist at GS says inflationary pressures have eased materially in Australia, with key core measures likely to stabilize around the midpoint of the RBA's 2%-3% target band in 2025. GS forecasts a terminal cash rate of 3.25%, down from 4.35% currently. (james.glynn@wsj.com; @JamesGlynnWSJ)
