1245 ET - Brinker International's Chili's Grill & Bar chain launched a social media campaign around its Triple Dippers appetizer last April that seems to be paying off. "We basically doubled that business," CEO Kevin Hochman says on a call with analysts. The company's marketing team partnered with social media personalities to advertise the Triple Dipper, an assembly of three appetizers and dipping sauces, and the results have been "exceptional," Hochman says. Triple Dippers made up about 14% of total sales at Chili's for 2Q. The campaign brought in younger guests, drove up average check size and prompted more diners to return, the CEO says.
