德意志银行认为，澳元贬值可能有限，因为澳大利亚联储降息周期的深度比时机更重要。德意志银行驻悉尼策略师 Lachlan Dynan称，澳大利亚疲软的通胀数据可能只会说明澳大利亚联储首次降息的时间，而不是宽松周期的深度。“鉴于澳大利亚强劲的劳动力市场和财政活动，有理由认为降息周期不会像许多其他国家那样深，这可能会支撑澳元兑其他一些G10货币。”不管最终的利率定价如何，澳元短期内可能会受到美元走强的挑战，因为关税溢价几乎没有反映在美元整体走势中。
