Allegiant Travel Preliminary Passenger Traffic Rises in December, Falls in Q4, 2024

Allegiant Travel (ALGT) said Wednesday that its preliminary total system passenger traffic for December increased by 13.6% year over year to about 1.6 million passengers.

Total system available seat miles rose by 15.6% from a year earlier, while departures increased by 16.1%, the leisure travel company said.

For Q4, the company reported a 3.5% year-over-year decline in total system passengers to about 4 million. Total system available seat miles rose by 2%, and departures increased by 1.6%, Allegiant said.

For 2024, total system passenger traffic fell by 2.1% to about 17 million. Total system available seat miles rose by 1.1%, while departures increased by 0.9%.

Allegiant's estimated average fuel cost for December was $2.47 per gallon, while for Q4 it was $2.50 per gallon. The full-year 2024 average fuel cost was $2.76 per gallon, the company added.
