1729 ET - Meta expanded its headcount about 10% in 4Q and plans to put most of those employees to work on its huge planned data center, chief executive Mark Zuckerberg said during an analyst call. Zuckerberg said earlier this week the company plans to increase capital expenditure by 70%, investing $60 billion to $65 billion into building a 4 million square-foot data center campus to energize AI development. "That's what most of the headcount growth will go towards" and will define Meta's financial trajectory in years to come, Zuckerberg said. (katherine.hamilton@wsj.com)
