Total deposits within Hong Kong's authorized firms inched up 0.9% in December 2024, according to data from the Hong Kong Monetary Authority released Tuesday.
Deposits in Hong Kong dollars and foreign currencies rose 0.9% each during the month, the city's de facto central bank said.
For the whole of 2024, total deposits increased 7.1% while Hong Kong dollar deposits jumped 2.8%.
Renminbi deposits fell 6.6% to 926.6 billion as of the end of December, the HKMA said.
