Energy Fuels (UUUU) and the Navajo Nation indigenous tribe said Wednesday they have signed a deal to resume uranium ore shipping through federal and state highways passing through the Navajo Nation territory.
The company intends to resume the ore transport in February from its Pinyon Plain mine in Arizona to its White Mesa Mill in Utah, it added.
The uranium producer also said it has committed to transport up to 10,000 tons of uranium-bearing cleanup materials, without any cost to the Nation, from abandoned uranium mines within the Navajo Nation.
